DOIT Conference: Making Social Innovators
During the DOIT Conference 2020 on the 24th of September, we explore how we can prepare young people for today's innovation society. How can young learners work together and make creative solutions for societal issues? Which knowledge and which methods support teachers and learning facilitators in this process? And how can these be integrated into the educational landscape? After 3 years of DOIT, it’s time to reflect on our experiences and the knowledge we gathered.24 sep 2020 (08:45 - 14:40)
The conference is aimed at practitioners, multipliers, teachers, researchers and those interested and responsible in education, innovation and educational research and politics. The organizers of this symposium invite to exchange experiences and strategies and to test new innovation methods for a sustainable future. In working groups, the participants will have the chance to deal with the challenges, experiences, and potential of initiatives and methods around 'innovation education for young people'.
A diverse group of experts, researchers and educators will provide an extensive programme of lectures, panels and workshops. Waag's maker educator Frank Vloet will present during the session 'Equal & Fair Access to Digital Making and Makerspaces for Everyone' from 13.00-14.00. Simultaneously, Pam de Sterke from Waag will moderate the session 'Education Policy - Making Social Innovation in School Curricula'. The full programme is available here.
DOIT is an European project that empowers and educates young people. It focuses on the education around social innovation, digital fabrication, programming and entrepreneurial skills. This is done by creating online toolboxes for the youth and their educators, by training educators and by providing regional pilots in 10 different countries.
